Question: Tell us about your work routine.
My day usually starts with a morning walk around my city’s seaside, it energizes my mind and body so I can prepare for the day’s tasks. Around 9am and with my coffee cup on my side supporting me, I plan my priorities and kick-off the daily work.
Question: Tell us about your workspace.
My living room includes my home-office desk by the window area. I structured my home-office in a way which assists me in being efficient and ergonomic in my daily work routine. I decorated my office with plants which helps my mind focus. When I get tired of the sitting posture my standing desk does the heavy-lifting for me ;)
In contrast, sometimes during the month I enjoy working from one of the many work cafe’s in my area.
Question: Tell us about working in your region. What do you do in your free time? Are there any special facts you’d like to share?
I live in Thessaloniki, the second biggest city in Greece. It's a great place to live in since you get the urban planning, social go-out lifestyle and by the sea vibes. Close to Thessaloniki are many nature attractions like Chalkidiki’s sand-beaches which we enjoy going during the summer months, and mountains like the famous mount Olympus for hiking and more. In my free time I enjoy going out with my friends and family, or organizing trips on the outskirts of the city on the weekends. Afterwork hours I try to be creative by usually practicing music production or teaching street dance lessons to some local dance schools.
Usually in winter where weather closes us in, I enjoy working on personal projects on electronics like Microcontrollers/Arduino, RaspberryPis or on Game development using Unity/Blender.
Question: What do you do at IN4IT?
At IN4IT I am a Cloud Solutions Architect / DevOps engineer.
My main roles is to design, build, manage and maintain AWS infrastructure for multiple clients by ensuring AWS best practices in all aspects of microservice application infrastructure and deployment like security, availability, autoscaling, disaster recovery and deployment agility. Alongside with that I am creating CI/CD pipelines to deliver application versions faster with no downtime and I provide expert consultation support for various client issues whether it's technical or strategic by having constant contact with the Developer teams & tech leaders.
Question: What do you like at IN4IT?
What I admire most is the flexible and agile way we work and collaborate with my colleagues and support each other on running tasks of multiple clients.
Also as a remote first company I love the flexibility of being able to organize my own schedule and place of work.
Question: What is your favorite tool, programming language, or cloud product?
I enjoy working with multiple technologies but some that make my life more fun are:
Tools: VSCode and a terminal :P Tech: Containers, Terraform, Bash, Golang, NodeJS, Linux in general Cloud: AWS
Question: What would you like to learn or do next?
To expand my skill-set and make better architecture decisions I would love to learn more about the Azure/GCP offerings.
Also my next goal is to get proficient in Golang by the next months by building some personal projects. Question: What tool, programming language, or cloud product would you like to see improved, expanded, or created in the future? I would love to see how the AI race will affect the computing in all cloud providers and bring new capabilities to their services. From serverless-compute to better priced GPUs options etc..
